What a great opportunity to let the kids get creative and learn some cooking skills while you get a chance to sample the new winter menu if you wish at Gabriellas at the Grove.

Kids get to put on their aprons (that they get to keep!) and learn the art of pizza making at Gabriellas at the Groves Pizza making party!!

Each child will have the opportunity to roll their own pizza shape, decorate with their favourite toppings and best of all eat and enjoy their creation!

While the cooking process take place, children are entertained with a pizza colouring activity and are able to sample the chefs very own Nutella pizza for dessert with a juice box.

Get the creative juices flowing while learning to sew. Oatley Cottage have some great introductory classes for kids at their store in Oatley.

Perfect for school aged children in Year 3 to Year 12, there is a class for all levels. The price includes tuition, pattern and sewing machine hire. You can also use your Creative Kids voucher from Service NSW for these classes.

In the first week you can make an Applique Owl Cushion.

No previous sewing machine skills are needed so this class is perfect for beginners.

Glow Kids club is a holiday program crated for primary aged kids. It is n excellent opportunity for kids to make new friends and have lots of fun over the school holidays. At kids club, enjoy making epic crafts, playing games, meeting new people and hearing stories.

Sydney based artist Cindy Yuen-Zhe Chen will share her practice of close observation, listening and looking within the beautiful natural environment of Carss Park. Learn how to draw in response to the wind through experimental drawing processes and immerse yourself in the possibilities offered by nature. All creative responses are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary. 

Experiment with drawing techniques that use the unpredictable nature of the wind and chance in this listening and drawing workshop. Take part in a meditative walk designed to heighten your sensory awareness.

St George Holiday Clinic, full of fun and Rugby League activities.

A day for children to run around outside while being educated and enjoying time with new friends and coaches. 

Holiday clinics include specially designed games and activities channelling the true nature of kids, in all their messy, high energy, love of fun and play.

Dragons Active holiday clinics are a great way to keep the kids busy and active over the break.

Create your own sensory toy!

Come along and learn how to create your very own sensory toy using slow stitching and simple craft techniques. 

As humans we experience and learn about the world we live in through our sensations; sight, smell, touch, taste and sound. This workshop focuses on mindfully slowing down, reflecting on and discovering sensations that engage, excite and create calm in our bodies. You will leave with your very own, uniquely designed sensory toy. 

What to expect: 

  • Learn slow stitching technique 
  • Explore using your senses for self-regulation 
  • Create your very own unique and creative sensory toy designed around your sensory preferences that can be a resource for stimulating the senses and calming the nervous system. 
  • Experience mindful craft making 

About the Facilitator

This session is facilitated by Mary-Helen Daly, a qualified Transpersonal Art Therapist and local artist who explores process-based art making for wellbeing, self-expression and developing self-awareness. 

Suitable for: Recommended for children 5+. (scissors and embroidery needles will be used therefore supervision is required if under 16). No previous experience required and all materials are supplied
